Some real good commercial applications are as follows:

	Magnet (No Hands Software)
	PowerMerge (Leader Technology)
	Inline Sync (Inline Design)

I've currently evaluating each one of these products and I am leaning
towards Inline Sync. However, Leader Technology is releasing
PowerMerge 2.0 (I've got 1.0) and it's supposed to be more robust than
the version 1.0. So, my decision can change.

And, if this helps any, those with DuoDocks w/ internal drives in
their Docks will have PowerMerge bundled with the system, so maybe it
seems that Apple likes PowerMerge...

Hope that helps.
