MacDraw Pro has a serious problem with TrueType, I think.  If any
Helvetica Bold+Italic text is present in a drawing, many or all of the
occurances of Helvetica plain text objects in the same drawing will have
their character spacing seriously screwed up.  By 'screwed up' I mean
that some characters print almost on top of others, while words sometimes
appear to have spaces in them.  There is no visible effect on the
screen, only when printing.

This occurs with or without the Fractional widths and Kern pairs options
on or off, but disappears if the TrueType Helvetica fonts are removed
from the System (leaving the Helvetica bit maps behind).  The problem
does not occur when running 6.07 (no TrueType).

So much for the sticker on the outside of the MacDraw Pro box that
proclaimed 'System 7 compatable'!

Anyone else seen this?  Is Claris listening?

PS When is the new version of MacDraw Pro coming?  You know, the one
that actually does something clever with System 7 :-)
