When I attempted to defragment my hard disk Saturday, I got an alert saying that the catalog extents were bad, and that the disk could not be defragged. So, after making a backup of the disk, I tried to fix it. Disk First Aid said that it couldn't fix it. Norton said that it couldn't fix it. MacTools tried to fix it and wound up making the disk uncrecognizable and unmountable. I'm really glad that I made that backup first. Anyway, erasing the disk and then restoring from the backup defragmented the disk. +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ |Now that I have a reader that can do .sigs, I can't think of a witty | |one to put here, so I won't. All normal disclaimers apply. | +---------------------------------------------------------------------+
