Why Autodoubler? Because it's faster than SpaceSaver (from reports
I've heard from others. I'm still waiting for my upgrade to verify this before
I make any final decisions.) and compresses a lot tighter than More Disk Space.
It's also more compatible than MDS 1.2. I'm still doing some checking on MDS
2.0.

Why should a FAQ list contain product recommendations? Because, at least in
this case, there's a frequently asked question about which product to purchase
and in this case I feel comfortable answering it. I'm also considering adding
a FAQ on which word processor to use although in that market features and
performance are still differentiated enough that I'd have to offer
different recommendations depending on needs. I've also considered adding a
recommendation for Freehand over Illustrator, mainly out of my annoyance at
Adobe releasing Illustrator 4.0 for Windows and the NeXT while leaving Mac
users hanging; but that one isn't asked often enough to justify its
inclusion in the FAQ.

Finally, note that there have been
at least two product recommendations in the FAQ since the first betas, an
explicit recommendation for archiving software
(initially for Compact Pro, now for Stuffit
Lite. Note that I'm not adverse to changing recommendations when the products
change.) and an implicit one for Disinfectant (as opposed to all other
commercial and freeware anti-virals).
