I'm pretty sure that Metamorphosis cannot convert fonts created by
Art Importer to Type 1.  In fact, I'm unaware of *any* program that
can convert AI fonts.  I believe the problem is with Art Importer
(if you can really call it a problem--I think it's an artifact of
the entire design of the program, importing things from elsewhere
rather than creating them within the program).

You could try calling Altsys.
