A couple things come immediately to mind:

1) Please remember to hit return at the end of a line while typing in a
   *NIX environment. Unlike oue Macs most *NIX text-processors do not
   automatically wrap a line.

2) You could try selecting your HD and giving it a "big" label (from the
   Label menu in Finder). This >should< tell Spacesaver to uncompress
   everything on the drive and to not recompress it.

3) If you have MagicMenu: Select your HD and select Magic->Expand. (You may
   want to hold down the Option-key when doing this. This will bring up a
   "One-Time-Only" prefferences box for Magic Menu. Make sure that
   "Spacesaver Files" is selected.)

No matter how you extract the drive anke sure that you remove Spacesaver
immediately (otherwise you'll get the same bloody problem).
