I recently obtained Expressionist V3.0 for the purpose of generating
TeX equations. The default Expressionist palette is set up to
generate equations in normal (non-italic) text. Consequently the TeX
code generated is sprinkled with "\rm" commands to change the math
mode font back to the regular "upright" font.
Since I like the default appearance of TeX equations, and to maintain
compatibility with existing documents, I set about changing the entire
Expressionist palette to italics. This is an easy, but very tedious,
task. In general, the result works, except for some macros. For instance,
even though I have recreated the partial derivative macro in italics,
it always gives the code: $${\partial \rm ? \over \partial \rm ?}$$.
A less-than-ideal solution is to manually edit the \rm out afterwards --
but if that's the only way I'll probably go back to hand-crafted equations.
Does anyone have an alternative suggestion on how to rectify this problem?
