This is an understandable confusion.

Anti-viral appleevents were a feature of a never-released-not-to-be-soon-
available-anywhere beta version of Disinfectant circulated among the
disinfectant working group and MacMash several viruses ago.

They were picked up and actually encorperated in other products.

Disinfectant has stayed at the less ambitious level of 2.x because
of the limits on John Norstad's time and the need to respond promptly
to several viruses. Some features for 7.0 compatability and such were 
retofitted, instead of finishing cleaning-up a drastic code re-write.
