The real problem is that the only program that can currently compete with
Vision is MOTU's Performer, and that is protected too. As far as I know, there
are NO true altertnatives to Galaxy plus editors that are non-copy protected.
Software protection seems to have become a standard in the music biz, and we
are the ones suffering. As an owner of Vision and Galaxy, I am completly fed up
with Opcode, but I depend on their products. They did send me a backup disk
when I wrote to them, but since then one of the disks has crashed, bringing me
back to one disk. Also, I use three different Macs, (one home, one studio, and
one at school) since I am the only one using Vision on these computers, I feel
that I have the right to have them installed on all three. However, the disk
only allows two installations. This policy is disgusting. I can only hope that
there is a musician/hacker out there who can patch this stupid thing.
