Font downloaders and PS Send utilities (like the LaserWriter Utility program) require two-way communications with the printer, where printing does not (strictly). Under Novell you are printing to a print QUEUE, not a printer, so there isn't a two-way communications link. That's why your utility doesn't work. Take a look at the back of the printer you're trying to print to. Is it connected with the AppleTalk connector? If so, you should be able to find the printer in two ways in the Chooser, both it's Novell queue name (that you're using now) and it's real AppleTalk name. Choose the real AppleTalk name and you're in business. If you don't know it, just turn it off and back on and it'll print up a startup sheet with the name on it. --- grismore@adobe.com --- original thoughts, not my employer's --- --- and besides, I'm all out of Powdered Toast!
