DarkSide (freeware) is very good about maintaining a low profile during such activity. AfterDark (commercial) can be configured to monitor CPU activty (and not activate) but is also good about blanking the screen while allowing other acitvity to progress. I often run AfterDark on purpose when printing a large file or running a Retrospect backup. -Geoff -- geoffb@Dartmouth.EDU - Computing Support Consultant, Tuck School of Business "Windows 3.1 won't change the success of the Mac." - Bill Gates, Microsoft Corp.
