Responses follow (for others in same boat)... In comp.sys.mac.apps you write: >I downloaded some mac fonts from an FTP site. They all have extensions >*.cpt.hqx. I've been told I need "CompactPro" to uncompress them, so I >got CompactPro, BUT IT'S COMPRESSED!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please post here >and/or e-mail me. Thanks. The .hqx means it's BinHexed (you probably know that already). The .sea before that means that after you un-Bin-Hex it, you should get a self-extracting archive. Just double-click on it and let it run, you'll end up with the uncompressed CompactPro. Nick It's not compressed; it's binhexed. If you have either BinHex 4.0 (not 5.0) or any version of StuffIt beginning with v1.5, you only need to unbinhex the file. The ".sea" means that all you have to do then is to double-click it and it will decompress itself. - Dave
