[Posted for a System Admin without Internet access] --------- We have a IIsi running System 7.0 with TuneUp 1.1.1. This machine runs the AppleShare Server software version 3.0 and Microsoft Mail Server version 3.1. It has three hard disks attached (80, 160, and 210 meg). We recently moved the Startup Disk from the 80 to the 210. After this operation, we found that AppleShare complains of a corrupted Users & Groups file. Interestingly, if we copy the Users & Groups file from it's original location on the 80 meg drive, the AppleShare software will survive _ONE_ system reboot successfully. Any subsequent reboots cause the corrupted file error again. AppleShare Admin is of no help--it simply reports a corrupted Users & Groups file and exits. How friendly.... What kinds of things lead to corrupt Users & Groups files? We followed the directions in the Admin manual for changing the startup disk, and can't find any other on how to deal with a corrupted file. ----- Thanks for any help you can offer. -- | Paul E.
