There is a utility called File Fix that comes with Central Point software's MacTools. This utility is supposed to be able to deal with some corruption problems for Excel and Word files. I don't have any actual experience with it, so I can't say whether it does what it claims to be able to do or not. But it sounds like it would be worth a try in your case. -- Dana E.
