Add adding to the frustration...

I am moving from an IBM PC to a Mac. I've used Quicken on the IBM for
several years so naturally I thought I would be able to move my data via QIF.
Easier said than done! The QIF translator on the IBM side puts out records
that cause the Mac QIF translator to report that the QIF file [from the IBM]
is not valid! After some study I discovered that the IBM version puts out
"!Account" records, these records cause the Mac translator to report an
invalid QIF file. Thus there is no way to automatically import your account
structure into the Mac. So, I typed in all 50 of my accounts. (gack)

OK, now I export [from IBM] transactions only from my check register
and successfully import them into the Mac. The category/account balances are
even correct. BUT--when I import the Mastercard transactions, payment data
is posted back to the checking account. A call to Intuit acknowledges this
problem but they have no solution to offer. AAAARRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! Bottom
line, the translators don't have a common file format definition and they are
naive about the way they handle transfer of funds between accounts.

My solution. Buy SoftPC for the Mac & stay with PC Quicken for now.
Does anybody have a better solution?
