I never noticed this problem in Word 5.0, but I did have it happen to me
once in 5.1a.  I had a paragraph that I began with small caps and ended with
plain text.  Every time I hit the spacebar in that paragraph, the small caps
portion of the para would toggle between small caps and plain text.  This
bizarre phenomenon only occured in one of the many paragraphs beginning
with small caps in this document.  I have not been able to repeat the
phenomenon in subsequent sessions in this or other documents.  The whole
thing is strange, unpredictable, and irritating.  Any words of wisdom out
there?
