Printing to Postscript File

I would like to print documents in MSWorks 3.0 to a postscript file.
The Laserwriter printer driver allows you to do this with an option
at print-time, but the file for a 1 page document is in excess of
700K. Since this document was entirely text, I assume that it is
creating bitmaps of the font (Times) and saving the bitmap rather
that the straight text with formatting/font commands.

My question is this: How can I create a postscript file that uses
text/font/formatting information rather than bitmaps? (The system
is a Mac LCII running 7.0.1, and there is no printer attached.)
Thanks in advance.
