Hi.

I'm looking for a set of System 7.1 disk images for my IIci. My installer
disks have corrupted :(

Please contact me if you can tell me where to get/FTP them!

Thanks
Dan

Sorry, this is commercial. You will have to call Apple and see if there
is anything they can do about. I don't see how replacement would be a
problem, if you can prove to them that you own the disks already.

Surely you should be able to download them from Apple's ftp site.

only if he has a username & password (i.e. works for apple)

7.1 is NOT, has never been, and appears unlikely to ever be, downloadable
thru legitimate means to anonymous users.

Not 7.1 and above... these are all commercial and can't be downloaded
(but the upgrades from 7.5 to 7.5.3 and then 7.5.5 can be...)

Daniel,

The Apple Software Upgrades CD has a single user license for System 7.1 on
it. You can make diskettes from the images on that CD. It is available
for $30 from asu@apple.com.au.

If you don't have access to a CDROM (you don't necessarily need to have it
on your IIci) then Apple Software Upgrades can supply you with floppies.
You can also phone them on 1300 300 771.

I think you are mistaken... if you check: http://www.apple.com/support/,
you can update all the way to 7.6.1.

BZZZZT!!! Wrong...7.1 is not free; 7.01 is (as George said).

Yes there are free updates to 7.6.1, but this only updates over a
purchased copy of 7.6.

Similarly, you may update a purchased 7.5 to 7.5.5 for free, and you can
buy 8.0 and get 8.1 free.

Cheers,
Jayfar

nope...7.0.1 was the last actual free OS. What you are seeing are updates, not
the actual OS installer.

You have to buy 7.1.

If you are running 7.5, you can use the updater for 7.5.3, and then 7.5.5.

If you are running 7.6, you can use the updater for 7.6.1

If you are running 8.0, you can use the updater for 8.1.

there are updaters "from" 7.5->7.5.3..etc, but to get
past 7.0.1 (legally) you have to pay for something.

By the way, anybody know how much of a system these uppdaters
need to get going? I have 7.5 installer and 7.5.3 updater and
it takes forever because you need to go through the whole instalation
procedure twice. Can I do a "minimal" instal of 7.5 then "update"
to a full system?
