I would like to convert my old Eudora Pro 3.1 files over to Claris Emailer
2.0 fomat but don't know how.

I have tried a little program called Eumorpha 1.5.4 which is supposed to
convert Eudora files to Claris Emailer 1.0 format which I could then
convert for Emailer 2.0. So this is what I did...

I got a copy of Emailer 1.0 and loaded Eumorpha. I followed the
instructions to convert the Eudora mailboxes to Emailer 1.0 files but when
I looked in Emailer 1.0 it had recreated the mailboxes into folders but
they had nothing in them. Ah, I thought, I know, i'll try it with Eudora
Light 1.5.4 but the same thing happened - a progress bar showing the
conversion taking place but no files converted to Emailer 1.0 format.

I am at a loss at where to go from here. Any suggestions gratefully
received. Thank you.

The instructions say: "Any version of Claris Emailer 1, with the exception
of the original 1.0 release, should be compatible with Eumorpha". Later in
the same document it says: "This converter only works with Emailer
versions 1.0v2 through 1.1v3. It does not work with the original 1.0
release...".

So if you really were using 1.0, obviously it won't work. That version of
Emailer doesn't have the right AppleEvent support. If you were using 1.0v2
or later, the following additional instruction may be relevant: "You must 
have a valid account selected in order for message importing to complete
successfully."

If you followed *these* instructions, I can pretty much assure you that
you won't see the behavior you describe. If you do, you can contact me
(but see below).

To do *this*, you shouldn't be bothering with Emailer 1 or Eumorpha at
all. There are scripts which will import Eudora files directly into
Emailer 2. See
