A while ago someone posted a question that went something like this:
"How do I get FileMaker to go to a layout in another database via an on screen
button"
I responded with a suggestion that perhaps having FileMaker send an AppleEvent
to itself would solve this problem. It will not.
However, it is possible, with FileMaker Pro 2.0, to activate a script within
another FileMaker database. This can be implemented by tieing your on-screen
button with a script that will activate a script in the target database.
Thus, when you press the button, the other database will be activated, brought
to the foreground, and the layout defined by the script in the target database
will be displayed.
