Tim Myers recently asks about exporting to tab-separated text from FileMaker Pro. Actually, Tim, FileMaker Pro seems to export everything as it claims it will. The snag that you may be getting caught on, though, is that FileMaker will export a Vertical Tab (ASCII 11), for any returns within a field. So, if you have one field that may have several lines of information which you have manually added in carriage returns to, you will get these VT characters. The standard carriage return is used to signal the end-of-record marker. Good luck, and Happy FileMaking! -Nick Nick Triantos Avoid bus errors... Take the train!
