    Well, you should be able to do it using Apple Events and have a
script in one file that opens the other file and performs a function. I
don't know how extensive you can be with the commands you want it to
process, but I do know that you could do this with Hypercard talking to
FM Pro using Apple Events. Take a look at the HC example that comes with
FM Pro 2.0.
