Judith, I have been watching this posted question with considerable interest but have not as yet seen the answers which would satisfy "my" particular requirements. Let me briefly summarise the issue. Those who require a mass laser-labelling facility can find it integrated within ClarisWorks or FileMaker. But those built-in label formats serve only those markets which use the US Letter page. The global standard is the metricated A4 page - so if you are not in the good ol' US of A, you are burdened with workarounds whereby to compensate for margins and drop-register corruptions. The isolation of USA in clinging to the imperial measurement system, has produced nothing but problems in myriad commercial and industrial export markets. The customer has to decide whether he shall be the loser or whether he shall beat the American tunnel vision by buying from elsewhere (which in terms of imperial v metrication, means from anywhere else on the globe!) For instance. In many business presentations it is absolutely necessary to deliver unfolded documents. And yet the infeed width dimensions of all personal laser printers such as Apple, Hewlett Packark - et al, are just 1.5mm too narrow to accommodate a manilla envelope for A4 pages. So in this high-tech' age our options are (i) the quill pen or ballpoint, (ii) an expensive commercial laser-printer, or, (iii) use of a laser label. For the latter requirement one should not have to open a huge Application. We need only a Desk Accessory (Apple Menu item) Laser-labelling Utility which works with the current Mac OS and which supports the global metricated page formats. Having followed this ng thread, I emailed Avery, put these criteria, and asked the questions. Their prompt and courteous response can be summarised as "No. No. and No" To any Shareware wizards and software developers who may be reading this, I say, "here is market just waiting for your skills and enterprise".
