I have a student ID field of 10 characters long. The student ID is normally a social security number except for the foreign student there is a "Z" appened to a 9-digit number. I set the filter as "!#&9###-##-####~"z;Z"#". The problem is that when I enter a social security number for this field, it will automatically append the "#" (or whichever placeholder I use) to the end. How could I get rid of the "#" such that I can get the correct selection when I use the social security number to search for data.
