I am new to this group. I have just installed the DAL server on a VAX.
The DAL Client 1.3.5 is installed on a Mac IIfx. The exercise is to
get to the Oracle database on the VAX via MS Excel 3.0. Could you
please help me to determine if the problem is on the VAX side? And,
what the problem is? Please. Or refer me to someone.

Thanks in advance,
hyu

Here is a description. Excel will say that it "Can't establish connection".

On the VAX server, Oracle is linked with Two-Task because 'netvsn' shows
Mail box utility. The demo tables have been installed and can be accessed
through SQL*Plus as scott/tiger. However, when I run the 'idal'
interactive DAL tester on the VAX with:
	begin> open oracle dbms;
	more> go
	Execution begins...
	Execution Completed Successfully
	begin> open oracle database as user "scott" with password "tiger";
	more> go
	Execution begins...
	<after about eight seconds>
Then, it will kick me out of the session.
That is all on the server side.

The client side has the following diagnositics from the DAL Debugger:
Hostname? IbsenADSP
Username? hyu
Password?
Connopts?
