Matthew,
Databases are easily swapped back and forth between FoxBASE+/Mac and
FoxPro--we have a FoxPro database on a PC LAN at work and I move .DBF files back
and forth all the time. Though I've not spent much time investigating how to
move other types of files back and forth, I've had zero success with report
forms, label forms, and indexes. FoxPro can use a different type of index file
than FoxBASE, and maybe the same is true for reports, etc. The FoxBASE+/Mac
documentation is full of sweeping generalizations about how how all FoxBASE+/PC
programs will run on the Mac, so maybe the problems I had would have been no
different than if I had tried to swap indexes, reports, etc. between FoxPro and
FoxBASE+/PC. These problems aside, I believe that FoxPro could run a
FoxBASE+/Mac program if there were no uniquely Macintosh file names, and
FoxBASE+/Mac could run a FoxPro program if the reverse were true (I'm not sure
what would happen if you tried to open a file whose name began with "C:\ " on
the Mac. There are a number of new features in the FoxPro programming language
which don't exist in FoxBASE (on either platform).
I guess the bottom line is that converting a whole application would be a
pain in the neck, but exchanging data is no problem at all.

Good luck,
Phil Schuler
