I'm working on a Filemaker Pro file, and I'd like to set up one of the layouts for a report that would show fields from five records in column format instead of rows. What I'd like to do is list the field names on the left hand side once, followed by the five records. When I tried to do this, all of the field labels repeat with each of the records. Does anyone know if there is a way to set this up to that the field labels are only printed once, followed by the records? I know this is fairly easy to do if I were to list the records in rows and put the field labels in the headers, but my boss wants it the other way if possible. Any and all help with this would be quite appreciated. Thanks, Roger Swanson

I can see a few problems with my scheme, but it is the only thing that I can think of that may do a bit of what you want. Another option would be to export the data in merge format. It can then be loaded into MS-Word and you can have it do a fancy mail merge to get what you want. In fact, I think it would be fairly easy to do. -- -- Wolfgang Richter (e-mail: wolfgang@sfu.ca) -- Academic Computing Services -- Simon Fraser University -- Burnaby, B.C. -- Canada V5A 1S6 -- Phone: 604-291-4449
