DAL questions

Can anybody provide me with a list of Mac applications which
support access to databases residing on a DAL server?

I know 4D supports them but I was burned so badly on 4D 1.0 that I really
don't want to do business with Acius.

Does Filemaker Pro support DAL access?

We will be experimenting with a beta version of the Deltek accounting system
with the Deltek Database Link. The bean counters at the other end of the
building have been using a production PC LAN based Deltek system for a
couple of years now. They are not willing to undergo the trauma of converting
to a different accounting system.

The Database Link product moves their data files into a Novell Btrieve
environment and provides a Netware SQL data dictionary. Novell's Netware
SQL product includes a DAL server enabling access to this data from
Macintosh clients.

One of the goals of this exercise is to integrate a project control system
with the accounting system. MacProject is one of the candidates. How
difficult is it to get data into a MacProject system. It would be ideal
if we could just create a data dictionary with appropriate views to support
MacProject based on the Deltek data dictionary and be done with it. But
I suspect that someone is going to have to remember to invoke the right
incantations to export and import data at the right time.

FM Pro 2.0 is supposed to. I just got my copy yesterday, and haven't had a
chance to check. So does Resolve and Excel.
