I am currently evaluating for a database that allows me to place a background graphics as a template, import a photo(in PICT format) into it and print to a LaserWriter with the person's particular on it. I used FileMaker Pro 1.0v1 from Claris currently but we are not very please with its speed performance. I don't know if FileMaker Pro 2.0 is any faster than version 1.0. Can anyone recommend a database program that can suite our need? I would also be interested in reviews and comparison notes of database on Mac, can anyone direct me to appropriate source. Many thanks in advance. Regards, JEFF

The June 1992 issue of MacUser had a review comparing 4 relational database
managers: FoxBASE+, Omnis 7, Double Helix and 4th Dimension. These all
provide much more power in general than FileMaker, and also generally cost
a lot more. They may be more than you need for your application. The review
indicated that FoxBASE+ was generally faster at most operations than the
other 3, but probably required more programming effort to make a useable
application. I have used Omnis 7 and find it to be a very good product
in general.
