ClarisWorks, how many records can it handle?

How many records can a ClarisWorks database handle? I'm interested in building a database with records containing about 8 text fields and a date field. Could ClarisWorks be used realistically to create a database with a few thousand such records? The host machine would probably be an LC. Thanks, Alan Wilkinson.
