After spending the last hour and half trying to open up a 430 meg layered
photoshop file (from a CD backup drive)  using a 4 gig ultrawide cheetah
drive with an extra gig on another drive as scratch disks, for a total of 5
gigs scratch disk space, how do you open up 630 meg files with only a 2 gig
scratch disk? My 9500 has 278 megs of RAM and I am using 200 of this for
photoshop...I realize when a layered photoshop file opens up it "absorbs up
to twenty times its weight in excess RAM and drive space," but if you have
some kind of cool trick to beat these factoids, I would love to know. It
would save me a lot of time...and therefore, money!
