Yeah, the same happened to me. What a pain in the ass.
I am glad that Netscape allows us to use and evaluate beta versions, but
the last 2 were *really* bad! 
I don't think they even qualify as a betas, more like alphas!
I'm not complaining, I like trying out the beta versions, but these have
been so bad, Netscape should be very embarassed, I don't know how they
could release them. I would never release a beta of my own stuff that was
that buggy.
