I don't know what Chip Merchant is > charging--they put me on hold for 20 minutes, on a non 1-800 call. I used to think that Chip Merchant was the least expensive reliable source of RAM for the Mac. I've ordered from them before and also from Peripheral Outlet (and a couple of other places). I was tipped off to DMS (Direct Memory Systems, 800-662-7466) a while ago and, when I needed DIMMs for my 7500, called them, Chip Merchant, Peripheral Outlet and Tahoe Peripherals. DMS was the least expensive, at $165 for a 16 Meg DIMM. That was their price two weeks ago... I bet they are considerably less today. So you really have to call around if you want the best deal. If you don't compare and just call one or two places or, worse yet, just read "ads" in the Mac newsgroups, you will almost assuredly pay more than you would otherwise have to pay!
