I have worked with all three machines and would like to add my thoughts. I wouldn't recommend the 840 for DTP. It is the drag racer of pre ppc Macs. It can do wonderful things, but it requires knowledge, finesse and time to tinker with it. The 630 lacks an FPU, which will slow down several DTP applications. The 650 is a workhorse. It has ample expansion, runs at a reasonable (pre PPC) speed and most of all, is STABLE. -- Man can be destroyed, but not defeated - Papa Hemingway
