Anyone have any experience with the Nokia 447L 17" monitor? I'm thinking
of getting one for my 7500. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the 447X, which is fairly different -- mine uses the Trinitron
tube -- but I like it a lot.

I've had no trouble with it and the picture is superb. I chose it over
other Trinitrons because it supports higher resolutions at higher
refresh rates. Also, it can be turned up brighter than most others with
little or no loss of picture quality, which is important when working in
a brightly lit room.

The 447X came with a hard-wired Mac adapter that only allows you to run
at 832x624. I called Nokia and they sent out a free switchable adapter,
which, on my 8500, lets me change resolutions on the fly.

I was going to get the Nanao Flexscan T2-17ts, which uses the Mitsubishi
DiamondTron tube (a Trinitron clone), but they're hard to find. Now I'm
glad I saved about $100-150 and got a comparable screen.

I got the 447X for $979 from DellWare.

John,

My son works for a Semiconductor Manufacture in Silicon Valley. His
Company bought a number of these monitors and they are very unhappy with
them. I have seen these monitors for sale at Costco and other big
wholesale wherehouses. I guess you get what you pay for!

I have a 447L attached to a 7500. I am using the Sony multiscan adapter, which
cost less than $10 at Computer City. The monitor works well, it has a
sharp focus
with good colours. (I don't do professional graphics).

The Mac recognizes the monitor as a multisync, and with 7.5.2 I can switch
resolutions on the fly. I payed less than $700, so I cannot gripe.

YMMV

peace
