Anyone know where I can still get a new one fairly, or even really, cheap?

Failing that, a cheap refurbished one?

thanks

The cheapest I've seen is at MacZone: $749 for a refurbished Apple 17"
MS. I got mine for $799 (refurbished) at MacMall (yes, it was a
calculated risk, but I absolutely had to get one of these monitors before
they were all gone and no one else had them at the time; it was worth it).

David:
I too have an Apple MS 17" monitor.... but perhaps you can remind me how
to adjust the energy saving feature which blackens the screen after a set
amount of time.

It shuts down after 5 minutes of non-use, and is hard to turn back on....
taking pushing various keys and waiting sometimes 10-15 seconds. Quite a
nuissance!

Isn't there a simple way to adjust this feature for longer times?

Thanks...

If you have a 7500 or 8500, you need to enable the Energy Saver control
panel and set it to "Never" (or half an hour or something), otherwise your
monitor and machine will sleep automatically after 5 minutes. I think that
feature should take effect after half an hour, not 5 minutes -- I can sit
thinking about my work and staring at the screen for more than 5 minutes.

With a NuBus or other machine, just turn off the Energy Saver control panel.
