I have an old Apple 17 inch multi-synch monitor which used to whine. It was
successfully repaired by an authorised Apple dealer but now, after it has
been on for a couple of hours, the screen 'winks' every 15 minutes or so
with a click as though it were releasing a discharge of static. Do you
think this is o.k/normal?

Er, no, it's not okay or normal.

Rowland.
