Can anyone please suggest a cheap source for batteries for a 500-series
PowerBook?  Second-hand would be fine, as long as they can still keep a
reasonable charge.

Keep an eye on eBay. NiH and Pram batteries are occasionally up for
auction. Also, MacResq and companies like them sometimes have them for
sale. Good luck.

Try The Powerbook Guy, (www.powerbookguy.com), he seems to always have
what I need for my 540c.
