SONY Magneto Optical Drive Problem

I've had a Peripheral Land Inc Magneto Optical Drive for the last 7
years which has worked flawlessly as a seconary graphic archive.

Its a SONY SMO-C501-OOE 3.02, Model 59005 (SCSI) which takes 3M 5 1/4"
Double Sided optical discs.

When I bought it I was supplied with format software 'PLI Formatter
4.1' and a driver 'PLI RemvInit 4.1' . It has worked fine through
several Mac OS changes ...

The other week 2 things happened; firstly I upgraded my machine to OS
9.0.4 and secondly, when moving the drive accidentally moved some of
the 'dip switches' on the back of the machine (there are 3 banks of 6)

Now I get errors when trying to mount the drive which neither
Silverlining or Hard Disc Toolkit can resolve - it seems to think
either there is no media in the drive or that there is 0k free.

So I come to the heart of my dilemma ... does anybody know where I can
get an update to the Driver (I have already searched the web
extensively with no luck) AND/OR where I might get instructions which
will tell me how to reset the dip switches correctly?

I suppose I can't rule out the possibility that it's the drive itself
which has malfunctioned in some way and may need to be replaced.

Any help or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated as
would a direct email as well as posting a reply.

TIA

Michal

Try http://www.softarch.com Software Architects. I have used it on many
older OS and it also works on OS9.0.4.
Check their website or tech. support to make sure such an old drive is
supported (should be).
Also, they have several products, from simple to complex, so you will
have to find out what meets your needs.
