not realy, it's not to hard to figure uot is there's a floppy in the 
drive on a pc either. just look. I suspect the main reason that the macs 
have the system know about floppies, and make them almost impossable to 
eject. (except the well known paperclip that is not far from any mac) is 
so the prosumably ignorent users would me unable to interfiere(sp) with 
important disk operations. 
the single reason that this is not the case in the PC world is the price 
of the hardware. People may go off about liking the provlage of pushinh 
the little red button whenever they want. But honestly the mac flopples 
cost nearly 2x as much as the PC ones. Presumably some of this is because 
MACS are a smaller market but. still...
