I've seen this sentiment a lot, and I have to wonder what causes it.
Are a lot of people buying the drives and just leaving them on their
desks as kind of a second hard drive? Personally, I can't imagine
what I'd use the zip for if I couldn't carry it around and plug it
into other PC's (the average PC user doesn't have an external SCSI
jack just kicking around). In the average day, I take the the drive
to the lab at school, put as much as 80 megs on it, depending on what
I'm doing, and then usually stop by a friend's place and copy the stuff
before heading home. None of this could happen if I had gone with
SCSI -- is portability a total non-issue for most folks out there?

Just curious,
mike
