May be relevant of not, but my Zip drive sometimes does this too. That is, the parallel port one I have on my Toshiba would do it when the power supply started to fail and fried the drive (it would go intermittently to 11V instead of 5V). My SCSI Zip on the Mac just did it this evening. Nasty moment, especially after the follies with the parallel port drive. I powered the drive down, restarted and it worked fine. I think it does it when it's confused. Try reinstalling your driver and try a new cartridge. If still in trouble, try Iomega telephone help on 0800 973 194. Touch tone 4 gets you a knowledgeable human being. I was very impressed by them. They were very helpful. -- Peter
