We are looking for a Macintosh software engineer to join our Data Products
group. Applied Biosystems, Inc. (ABI), in Foster City, CA, is a leading
supplier of systems for biotechnology research. We have recently released a
number of new software products (mostly MacApp-based) which augment ABI's
traditional instrument product line, and we're about to embark on some new
projects.

ABI was incorporated about eleven years ago and has been an active Mac
developer for the past 4 years. We have an enthusiastic and experienced team of
Mac, Unix, and embedded systems programmers. With more than a thousand
employees worldwide, we have the benefits and resources of a large company,
while still retaining our informality and collegiality. You'll have an
opportunity to work in an exciting environment, with engineers and scientists
developing state-of-the-art equipment, software, and research tools for the
biotechnology revolution.

Essential Requirements:
o 3+ years of experience in commercial software product development
    o 2+ years of C++ programming experience
o 2+ years experience in developing Macintosh applications
o Self direction and desire to participate in product cycle from
          design to release to customers
o CS degree or equivalent experience

Strongly Preferred:
    o MacApp experience
o Understanding of Mac Toolbox and debugging
o Background in biology or scientific applications, or in other
           data-intensive areas
o Experience with network programming, distributed computing,
data structures, algorithm development or database design
