All but 140's 170's and 150's have "docking" capability. You get the docking cable, which is like a short SCSI cable with an extra pin (in the upper RHS corner from memory) on the HDI end and a female instead of male centronics on the other end. You plug your normal SCSI system onto the docking cable and the other end into your Mac. The SCSI ID is set in the powerbook setup control panel (do this before you plug in the cables). When all the cabling is together open your P/Book screen and turn it on, nothing will happen on the P/Book screen but it will play it's chord and the drive will spin up. Give it a few seconds to spin up and then start your Mac, when the "host" Mac initialises the SCSI bus the screen on the P/Book will light and a large SCSI icon will appear with the SCSI ID the machine is using. When the mac gets through it's boot the P/Books HD will appear on the desktop as another SCSI drive. Hope this helps Cheers In article <a.jeffrey-1203961136560001@deathstar.cc.uow.edu.au>, a.jeffrey@uow.edu.au (Andrew Jeffrey) wrote: > In article <obg.826548144@nada.kth.se>, obg@nada.kth.se (Olof Backing) wrote: > > > In <stevendc-1003961713090001@slip1163.rmii.com> stevendc@rmii.com (S. > Curtis) writes: > > > > >I have a powerwave 604/132, and I want to use my powerbook 180 as an SCSI > > >device.
