They do in Intel based machines. Surely the progamming interface must be the same on all of them. Why doesn't the Multitech v34 I can get use of work. From a note I faxed to Apple (after about 30 mins on the phone) - ---------- cut here -------- Regarding our phone call about PC Card modems. The computer is a PowerBook 5300. The Modem is a Multitech MT2834LT V34 faxmodem. When I insert it into my powerbook an alert box appears with the message The correct software you need to use the PC Card in the "Lower PC Card slot" is not installed. Do you want to eject the card now? If I choose not to eject it, an icon for it appears on the desktop named "MT2834LT", for which the "Get Info" box tells me that it's kind is a Memory PC Card. Seemingly relevant files in the extensions folder are: PC Card Extension 4-SEP-1995 version 2.0 PC Card Modem Extension 4-SEP-1995 version 2.0 Generic PC Card Modem 25-APR-1995 version 2.0.1 ---------- cut here -------- does anyone know why it can't be recognised as a modem and use the generic modem driver. The apple guide seems to infer that you can use any old modem. Andy.
