I am looking to buy a PowerBook 170, 180, or 180c (i.e., any Mac laptop
with an active-matrix screen) somewhere in the Greater Baltimore/Washington
area. I would definitely prefer one that has not been tinkered with
too much since it left the Apple production plant. I have gone to look
at a few already that people have advertised for sale: one had improper
memory chips installed, another had a non-standard floppy drive (that
wouldn't even read commercial Mac software disks), another had the bottom
cover of a different model (indicating that the original had been
severely damaged somehow).

I had my PB 170 (8/120 w/GV PowerPort Gold 14.4 modem) in its original
pristine condition for more than two years before it got stolen last
month. I didn't realize that finding a nice, inexpensive replacement
would be so difficult.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Glen
