PowerBook system of your dreams?

Net-Folks,

A friend of mine has gotten an offer from one of his clients to buy
him the "laptop system of his dreams." He's a mac-type, so that means
a PowerBook. The rule here is that there are no rules: get the best
of everything.

What would YOU do in the same situation? Some considerations are:

1) He'd like to be able to use the machine at home as well, with an
   external monitor.

2) If possible, he'd like the ability to send and receive _hardcopy_
faxes while on the road. Sending hardcopy seems to be the tricky
part. I was thinking one of apple's new color portable inkjets for
printing and, and maybe one of those "PaperPorts" for scanning.

3) Which models have active vs. passive color LCD displays? Active
looks nicer but consumes more power. Thoughts on this tradeoff?

4) How about processor upgradability? Which PowerBooks will take a
PPC (604/620?) chip once such daughterboards are available?

5) ?

Any ideas you have are most welcome...
