Hi All, I think I have broken the region protection on my Lombard Powerbook. This is how I did it. 1) Start up your Powerbook 2) While On, Remove the DVD Module 3) Get a DVD module from another Powerbook that has never been turned On (Yes I am serious, this is what I did)) 4) Play DVD's from diferent regions 5) Remove the module and put yours back in 6) Restart your powerbook 7) You should no longer be asked to switch regions Ive tried this with my module in my powerbook with about 10 DVD's (Region 1 & 4) and it has not asked me once to switch regions. Im not sure what has changed (I was dont this test to see if the protection was written into software or back to a eeprom on the drive itself) I did notice that the 'Apple CD/DVD Extension' and 'Region manager' have been modified, but these files seam to get modified every restart anyway. I have copied my extensions and prefs into an archive on my ftp site (ftp://130.217.91.201) and I will leave these there for about a week. I do NOT know if this will help anyone else, as it may have written this info elseware, but I am interested to know if it does work, so some feedback would be great. Good Luck (It really does work (Well at least for me), but getting your hands on a NEW Lombard DVD module is the hard bit) Regards Daniel Totally Mac Ltd / DVD Rent NZ
