Hey all, finaly got my ibook. As a first time mac user os9 sure if different
:) I like it, but can't wit to get OS X.

Anyway, how do i get a 2button mouse (with wheel) to work? I have a USB MS
mouse and when i plug it in it works fine but the 2nd button acts as the
first and the wheel doesn't work. Do i need drivers for it? Where can i get
them?

With Virtual Memory, is it true that turning it off i will get better
performance in 3d games? Or is that just hogwash?

oh, one more thing, do i need to uninstall software when i want to get rid
of it? Or do i just drag the folder to the trash? Is it ok to delete *.log
files as well?

cheers!

If it is a MS IntelliMouse you will need to download the IntelliPoint
software from MS. Once you have installed it you can set up the buttons
in the control panel.

You could use USB Overdrive if you don't like the software someone else
has suggested you download. It's a nice program, particularly if one has
a mouse with more than two buttons. But it may be too fancy for you.

Dragging the folder to the trash is pretty much all that's needed. You
*may* want to delete preference files, and yentry in the Apple Menu
Items folder (both these just for tidiness) and any extra extensions and
control panels, or folders inside the system folder that were installed.
Also, should there happen to be an alias in the Startup Items folder
(inside the system folder) that will need deleting. But if you're
unsure, fragging the main folder to the trash is all that's essential,
everything else is just to get rid of clutter.

Nice installers actually have an installation log, so you can see what
else they installed.
