That isn't entirely correct... Java isn't dead with Metrowerks it just 
isn't included with CW 9 for Macintosh.   There are a variety or reasons 
for this decision.

I can't comment if Metrowerks will have a Java tool because of the SEC 
restrictions applied to Metrowerks as part of the SPS spinout.   But I 
can say that the AP is going to Java and we have always been a prime 
tool for academics.

It does work,  there just won't be any fixes if it doesn't work and you 
can't get help from support for issues (if any) because of OS X 10.3
